3 Stupid Gohma Akomaru Media Monster Jin Shiryuu Doushi Kaku Kujaku Chouryou Uncle & Fiance
She could be anywhere from thirty to six-thousand years old. At some point in her life she became involved with Shaddam and joined the Gohma. It is entirely possible that this happened the other way around. But the key important statement for our purposes is: she became involved with Shaddam. Perhaps she even was in love with him. She was a powerful person, strong with the power natural to the Dai, strong with the powers available to a Gohma. Perhaps to secure her place, she decided to bear a child.
One thing is definite, the Gohma were certain of her. Shaddam was certain of her. But a woman was left on her own for childbirth, and so no one knew that she bore twins. Whether or not she knew she was carrying twins, I could not begin to guess. But I do know that when both little boys were born, she could not bear to allow the fate the Gohma would give them. For when twins are born amongst the Gohma, one is killed so that all the power goes to the other. Probably the second. So, still weak from the birth, she made a fateful decision. She took one of the newborns and fled, leaving the other for the Gohma to find. I believe she left the more likely to be killed child with them, believing they would nurse him into power amongst the Gohma, while she hid the more powerful child and muffled his energy readings, so that the other boy would have greater strength.
But that was not all. Somehow she learned that he would be the Kiba Ranger. Since Byakoshinken knew her on sight, I'm inclined to think they met. Which could mean that she was also acquainted with Rin's great uncle and his lovely fiance. I could not hazard whether she met them on her way escaping the Gohma sphere of influence, or on her run later to draw the Gohma from her son. I'm inclined to suspect the former rather than the latter. Oh yes. Four years later, the first surge of Gohma power began to seep from the boy she hid, and she made another decision. To seal in his power. But to completely control that which came with the Gohma half of his being, she would have to do something more, and he was too young. But she knew somehow, the Gohma had sensed her son's power surging, and were coming to investigate. So she left him in the care of some friends, and put as much distance between them as she could. What happened later was not quite what she expected. She was found and taken captive by an elderly Gohma and a boy-child about the age of her own son. And it never occurred to her (or if it did she chose to ignore it) who this boy might be. This, by the way, is why I'm reasonably sure that the Gohma are still bearing children. For the next almost six years she remained a prisoner, while the Gohma holding her tried to force her to tell them the whereabouts of the power-surge they had picked up.
I cannot guess what Shaddam was doing at that time. Perhaps it was only Akomaru who picked up the power surge, it being from his twin after all. They were able to get some information from her. By the time they came searching, they knew it was her son, how old he was, he was half-Gohma, and he had the tiger-brand on his arm. And I think it was only because of the rapid approach of his tenth birthday that she had finally let them have that much information.
It wasn't until Shaddam broke into the place they were holding her, trying to find out where Akomaru was getting all his information, that anyone really realized the truths. I remember the stunned looks on their faces when they recognized each other. Shaddam looked as though someone had speared him through the heart and he was only just standing. And then she looked at Akomaru and asked, and Shaddam confirmed through numb lips the boy was his son.
She had sacrificed everything to save his life. And she had never had the opportunity to give him the love she wanted to. Thus she had given everything she could to Kou. But love grows when given, and she had plenty of it left for Akomaru.
