Dan, knight of the Etofu Clan, is nineteen years old, and yet he often seems far younger. Boi is much more mature than he behaves. He loves comic books, a good joke, and yes he often rushes in when he should step back and think first. He is also a total sweetheart. He, with Mei, was poisoned and his character deformed, to become first a street punk. Later to run a gambling den. And I tell you, he looked outright scarey as a gangster!

He and Goushi together fought the good fight, to retrieve the water that they thought could save Burai's life. And I think Dan felt their failure almost as much as Geki did. But the water was used to save the life of a boy, which was some comfort.
