Knight was chosen, but almost discarded because it resembled Knight Rider too much, as a double-pun. When you spell it in Katakana, ƒiƒCƒg, it can just as easily be "night" as "knight".
Zolda is from the German word Soldat.
Gai ŠZ is another double-pun. The kanji means "armor", and an alternative reading is gai, which can also mean rhinocerous.
Raia is from words like Ei, which means Ray (though they themselves are rather confused and wonder if it might be from Spanish. Well, it could be).
For Oja, they refer back to Kuuga. Maybe. Hard to be certain. They just needed a name for a rider who matched Ryuuki.
Odin IS Odin, the guy with the Valkyrie and all that.
Femme is from the French, yes it's Femme. Verde is Spanish. Taiga is a combined reading of ‘å‰å. Big Fang. Emperor! It IS Emperor. Drat.
This seems to be a postcard. 10,000 people could win their very own! I sent in MY post card.
These designs are by Tamotsu Shinohara. He's responsible for all the Ryuuki Rider armor.
Left we have Raia Survive. Right we have Yuichi Saito as Kamen Rider Blue (maybe).
If Tezuka had kept his Survive Card... if Yuichi Saito had contracted Guld Thunder rather than been killed by it....
Tamotsu Shinohara's message on the subject, translated by my friend Koji:
Imaginary Art ~4th Imagination "Lost Numbers" ~
We're finally nearing the end of "Ryuuki" and all 13 Riders have made their apperance. Are you full? Or are you complaining "Why is the last guy (Impaler) like this?" That's too bad, or I mean sorry that he's like that. I don't know about the usage in the show, but it was a great experience for me to able to design characters with the name Kamen Rider. However, this wasn't enough to fulfill my imagination tank. I would want a different Rider to be beaten up every episode, so I can have Rider playing cards with every card having a different Rider... oh, did I say something wrong? It seems Ryuuki's world is restricted by only having the 13 decks of cards, there is no other space for others. However, in Ryuuki a "mirror world" in a different dimension exists and that would mean another parallel world is possible. We'll be looking at the deck of "Raia" whose fate was most cruel. Here's the design for "Yuichi Saitou who happened to link with Guld Thunder" I know you're going to say, wrong show! but Guld Thunder itself was a monster designed to become a Rider from the beginning. This is a diffferent story, but when I was designing Guld Thunder, I wasn't told about Gold Phoenix. I panicked that I was using the same idea, but with the help of Mr. P. Shirakura it ended up being used as a familiar monster. Now that I look closely, Odin is like "Arashi" too! Synchronization?
This other picture is "Miyuki Tezuka who confidently used the Survive
Card" requested by Mr. Hasegawa Akira living in Osaka. Thanks! I'll be
waiting for hot requests from everyone.
