At first it was these three
Eh-hem. These are the Aurg. This could be a pun, you know. With heroes called "Growl" we have villains called "Argh" but you never know. In the show's introduction magazine it was spelled Aurg, but throughout the series it has also been spelled Olgu and Org.

They spring into existence from an underground cavern full of stone shapes that seem to be the infant forms of their kind. Twisted gargoyles that I hear develop from the hatred and madness prevelent on Earth and then come out to attack we who generated them....

The woman is Duke Aurg Tuetue (pronounced tsuehtsueh). She is a witch! The actress playing her is the lovely Rei Saito. The first Aurg King was Highness Duke Schtein (pronounced shoe(things worn on feet)-ten). I'm told that's the name of a demon who guards the gates of the afterworld. He died in episode 14. As you see, they had an eye-theme going with him. The other guy is Duke Aurg Yaba-iba, who has a thing about knives, it seems.... His voice-actor is "Koichi" Sakaguchi ( ) and the man makes him sound maniacal, which is quite appropriate.

Over the series, Yaba-iba and Tsuetsue seem to have developed quite a relationship. But what will happen now? What will happen by the end? Hmmm.

And now it is these three... plus one.

This WAS Highness Duke Ura. His eyeballs were embedded in his nostrils, he behaved in a rather effeminate fashion, BUT in the time he was here, he proved to be quite crafty. He's the one who woke and retrieved the extremely dangerous Duke Aurg Loki. He was over a thousand years old, and he said Aurg were immortal. He had a nose-theme going, as seen particularly when he used Loki's power to enhance himself. He was ALL nose, then. But the Gaoranger finally took him out.

Ura was replaced by Duke Highness Rasetsu, who seems to be a hermaphrodite. The upper mouth speaks with a woman's voice, the lower with a man's. S/he's a very toothy critter. I suppose the next Aurg might be ears, or they might be something less identifiable. Rakushasa had a hair thing going, for example.

The Aurgets are the faceless minions, and they are both amusing and menacing. They come from Duke Aurg Tuetue's little bag of tricks. Well, it's more of a cup than a bag. Actually, it seems to be some sort of seashell.

She has a lot of other tricks up her sleeve. Or in her staff. She's the one who makes the Aurg go giant on us, with attack-beans!

But things are looking up. Here is an artist's rendition of what may be the final foe our heroes face. Hell Highness Duke Senki. He is actually a combined form, composed of Shtein, Ura and Rasetsu. Hence the name Senki (S), or "thousand demon". Tuetue is the responsible party.
