Kameo... er, Daimugen.

You run into the Dairanger and what happens? Well, aside from getting terrified, getting hijacked to be the catcher in a deadly baseball game, and getting chased all over by horrible men in black leather when all you'd done is gone out for lunch... You run the risk of discovering that you are really a giant turtle.

Six thousand years ago Daimugen had been a wonderful weapon in the battle against the Gohma. But he loved the world, and he hated to fight. So he fled from the war and transformed himself into a human being. And for six-thousand years he wandered the Earth. He forgot who he was, and by our time thought he was a normal human being. His name was Kameo, and turtles were his favorite animal in the whole world. He drew illustrations and made his living selling them, and dreamed of writing children's books. And then one day he found... or perhaps it found him... the crystal that was the key to restoring him to his true form. Whether he liked it or not.

Kameo had come to know Kazu, and the two were fast becoming friends as Kameo was the only person who knew that Kazu was really a boy from the countryside underneath that suave exterior. But when the crystal began turning Kameo into a turtle, he was terrified. Eventually Rin and her great-uncle caught up with him and explained what was happening to him. But he did not want to become a turtle, even a giant one with armor-plating and cannons. Until he found out that Kazu had been taken by the Gohma while trying to protect him, and now was in mortal danger. Kameo accepted his destiny in order to help save Kazu. And he learned to find considerable pride in what he really was. I have no clue what happened to him after the war was finally over.
